St. Christopher Catholic Elementary School

St. Christopher Catholic Elementary School has been greatly impacted with the fact that Library day is only one day per week. With COVID, hundreds of books went lost (many of the most popular ones). The library being off limits, books were brought to the students students from KD to Grade 2. For the 3rd to 6th graders, they requested 2 books via a manual paper slips, after doing an online search, with the hopes the books would be located and signed out to them. Grades 7th and 8th no longer had the interest to sign out book, although it was offered to them on a few occasions. The fact the library was not readily available for the students made everything take more time. New procedures had to be put in placed (ex: student putting their book requests on paper slips, books being signed out and put in individually assigned ziploc bags). As such, library could only be offered every second week. Then moving to online learning was a challenge. Many parents are working and/or are not present during the online classes. We are now faced with losing many more of the books that are currently signed out.
