Lisgar Elementary School

Lisgar is a very diverse school with many wonderful students and a variety of learning needs. Due to the age of our school, as well as the impact of Covid 19, much of our library resources had been damaged and/lost. The books that remain in our library and classrooms are outdated, torn, or damaged beyond repair. Without adequate resources and funding, students’ learning, and engagement is limited. We are struggling to meet the needs of our school community and we want to help students become strong, engaged readers. Students have noted that they don’t relate to the books currently in our library and therefore, aren’t engaged in reading them. Funds raised through the Adopt A School fundraiser will allow us to fill our shelves and classrooms with new and diverse books that our students will enjoy.
